With support from the NS Status of Women office, GEO Nova Scotia began the GEO Mobile pilot in December 2023 with the YWCA Halifax and 12 members of the Transitions House Association of Nova Scotia (THANS).
GEO Mobile offers a choice of like-new smart phone and a mobile data plan from Eastlink and in six months the pilot project supported almost 200 women fleeing violence.
In July 2024, the program was integrated into the GEO Connects program, providing access to over 100 Referral Partners across the province.
