As GEO Nova Scotia continues to grow, we are currently seeking candidates for up to FOUR new Directors to join our existing Board of Directors, in addition to a number of opportunities to participate on sub-committees.
The position is a three-year term. We are looking for individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences who have the time, energy, and passion to contribute to our vision – digital inclusion for everyone in Nova Scotia.

Our goal is to have a diverse and inclusive team that is representative of the communities we serve. The GEO Nova Scotia Board is decentralized and remotely based, with members located in the vibrant communities across Nova Scotia and we invite applicants from every corner of the province.
We particularly encourage nominations from Indigenous People, African Nova Scotians, and other racially visible persons; residents of Cape Breton and rural Nova Scotia; younger residents (19-35 years of age); and any underrepresented group including but not limited to those represented by race, ancestry, place of origin, physical or mental ability, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation and financial ability.
Additionally, the Board is seeking people with qualifications, attributes, and work or volunteer experience with:
- Finance
- Information Technology
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
- Public Relations, Communications, and Marketing
- Operations and Programming
Members of the GEO Nova Scotia Board are instrumental in supporting the vision and mission of GEO Nova Scotia. As an organization, we are committed to expanding Digital Inclusion and ensuring all Nova Scotians have access to, and the skills required to properly navigate, the internet and devices.
Our existing Board members have diverse experiences and skills and look forward to coaching and mentoring new members. No previous Board experience is required.
