Call for Nominations Open until May 15, 2024.

GEO Nova Scotia is currently seeking candidates for up to three (3) new Directors on our Board of Directors, in addition to a number of opportunities to join sub-committees.

We are looking for individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences who have the time, energy, and passion to contribute to our vision – digital inclusion for everyone in Nova Scotia.

Is it YOU we’re looking for?

Our goal is to create a diverse and inclusive team that represents of the communities we serve. The GEO Nova Scotia Board is decentralized and remotely based, with members located in the vibrant communities across Nova Scotia and we encourage applicants from every corner of the province.

We particularly encourage nominations from Indigenous People, African Nova Scotians, and other racially visible persons; residents of rural Nova Scotia; younger residents (19-35 years of age); and any underrepresented group including but not limited to those represented by race, ancestry, place of origin, physical or mental ability, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation and financial ability. If you are a member of one of these equity groups, you are encouraged to self-identify on your electronic application if you feel comfortable doing so.

Additionally, the Board is seeking people with qualifications, attributes, and work or volunteer experience with:

  • Finance
  • Information Technology
  • Operations and Programming
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
  • Public Relations, Communications, and Marketing

Members of the GEO Nova Scotia Board are instrumental in supporting the vision and mission of GEO Nova Scotia. As an organization, we are committed to expanding Digital Inclusion and ensuring all Nova Scotians have access to, and the skills required to properly navigate, the internet and devices.

Our existing Board members are highly skilled, experienced professionals who bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise in their respective areas of practice. Nominees who join the Board will be coached and mentored. Previous Board experience is not a requirement.

Requirements & Application Process

Nominees must be a resident of Nova Scotia, demonstrate a commitment to GEO Nova Scotia’s Vision and Mission, and be available and willing to fulfill Board duties and responsibilities, including being open to learning and working as a member of a team.
